Bulk fibres

Bulk - High temperature resistant fibres

Our bulk and chopped fibres (available up to 1600°C) show high temperature stability and their outstanding chemical stability (excluding hydrofluoric and phosphoric acids and strong alkalis) is complemented by their resistance to oxidation and reduction. Insulcon`s bulk and chopped fibres are available in a variety of lengths, mean diameters, and chemistries.

Typical applications bulk fibres are for example:

In our delivery program of bulk & fibres we have the following types:

Fiberfrax® Bulk & Chopped Fibres

Fiberfrax® Bulk & Chopped fibres are manufactured from high-purity alumina-silica materials for use in applications up to 1260°C. These products are manufactured in computer-controlled, state-of-the-art furnaces to provide customers with consistent fibre properties. Fiberfrax® Bulk and Chopped Fibres can also be chopped into several grades (coarse, medium and fine) to provide customers with a fibre ideally suited to their application.

Fiberfrax refractory ceramic fibres provide the basis for the entire family of Fiberfrax product forms. Fiberfrax Bulk and Chopped Fibres are available in a variety of lengths, mean diameters, and chemistries.

Insulfrax® Fibre

Insulfrax® Fibre is a synthetic vitreous fibre based on a calcium, magnesium and silicate composition. A high fibre index (low percentage of unfiberised particles) provides the excellent thermal performance associated with traditional fibrous insulating materials. Insulfrax fibre is available in both chopped and unchopped grades. This fibre is the feedstock used to manufacture the Insulfrax product line, and it is ideally suited for conversion to boards, coatings and vacuum cast shapes. Insulfrax Fiber was developed for the temperature range extending from cryogenic levels through to 1100 °C.

Insulfrax alkaline earth silicate wool provide the basis for the entire family of Insulfrax product forms.

Isofrax® 1260°C Fibre

Isofrax® 1260°C Fibre is a revolutionary low bio-persistent fibre that uses a unique, patented silica-magnesia composition to solve a variety of demanding high-temperature application problems. Isofrax 1260C fibre demonstrates excellent chemical stability and resistance to attack from most corrosive agents. Exceptions include hydrofluoric acid, phosphoric acid and strong alkalis. Isofrax 1260C fibre also provides superior wetting resistance to molten aluminium alloys at high temperatures.

Saffil® Fibres

Saffil® Alumina Fibres are high-purity polycrystalline fibres designed for use in applications up to 1600 °C. Since their development in the early 1970s, Saffil fibres have been used successfully to solve problems in demanding high-temperature insulation and many other speciality applications.

Saffil fibres are produced by a unique solution extrusion process that ensures the highest levels of chemical purity and lowest possible levels of shot content (non-fibrous particles).

High-Temperature fibres designed for a variety of industrial and commercial applications.
